PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jasmin Bonsant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peppy LaPue (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bonsant comes to the cage accompanied by Thunderstruck. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bonsant keeps the fight on the outside.

LaPue tries to clinch but Bonsant moves out of range.
LaPue tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Bonsant paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Bonsant misses the jab.
A looping hook to the body misses from LaPue. Bonsant does a little dance to reset his feet.

LaPue rushes Bonsant and presses him up against the cage.
LaPue is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Bonsant is defending well for now.
A frustrated look appears on LaPue's face as he tries to break the clinch.
LaPue trying to stall but Bonsant improves his position.

LaPue is fighting off a takedown attempt but Bonsant is just too persistent for him and manages to trip LaPue to the mat. LaPue regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
LaPue is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Bonsant is controlling him.
Bonsant is working LaPue over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
LaPue wants to stand and escape but Bonsant is having none of it.

It looks like Peppy LaPue has been cut.
LaPue really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bonsant. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Bonsant swats away the attempt to clinch by LaPue.

LaPue has managed to clinch.
Bonsant has LaPue pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. LaPue manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Bonsant goes for a takedown in the clinch but LaPue prevents it.
LaPue throws an elbow but it's blocked.
LaPue gets underhooks to prevent Bonsant's takedown attempt.

LaPue is still in real trouble! Can Bonsant finish him?
Bonsant cracks LaPue with a solid left hand.
Bonsant postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! LaPue covers up, he's hurt! Bonsant keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Bonsant and the ref steps in to end the fight! Bonsant can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.
