Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between manfred slamer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Logan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Paul Logan has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Paul Logan!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Eliza Hachem and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Logan tries to score a power double leg takedown but slamer sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Logan somewhat.

Nice takedown defense from slamer. No joy for Logan on that attempt.

Logan shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Logan showed some decent athleticism there.

Logan is looking for a kimura but slamer is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Logan to get the leverage.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Logan sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed slamer's guard.

Logan is looking for a kimura but slamer is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Logan to get the leverage.

slamer is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Logan asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Logan cracks slamer with an elbow. That is naaassty.

Logan goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, slamer has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Logan but great work by slamer.

So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

slamer is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Logan defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
slamer is striking well from the back but Logan escapes and manages to control the positon and works his way to half guard. A much better position - the crisis is over for the time being.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Logan. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

slamer escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Logan gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Logan drops back looking for a leg! slamer is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and slamer manages to kick Logan off! Logan jumps back into slamer's guard.
Logan wants to pass the guard but slamer is keeping the position.

Logan drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and slamer dives on top into guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Logan escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. slamer gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Logan will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

slamer fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Logan sprawls well initially but slamer persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to manfred slamer.
I think Logan has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
