Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Richard Callaghan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Curtis Sharp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Curtis Sharp!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Skip Squint and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed right hand from Sharp misses the target.
Callaghan avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Callaghan fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Sharp, pushing him back against the cage.

A frustrated look appears on Sharp's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Callaghan is pushing Sharp up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Callaghan seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression.

Sharp drops down looking for an ankle pick but Callaghan pulls his leg out and moves away.

Sharp looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Callaghan throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Sharp stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Callaghan gets underhooks to prevent Sharp's takedown attempt.
Sharp takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Sharp is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Sharp takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Callaghan is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Sharp crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Callaghan - the referee stops the clock and Sharp gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Callaghan. Sharp manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Sharp steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Callaghan. That one must have hurt.
Sharp takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Callaghan for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
