Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Yumi Goro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yumi Goro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, David Silva!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Hirohito Nitta and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab lands there for Silva.
Nice jab there from Silva.
Silva tries for a takedown but Goro sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Silva lands a jab to the head.
Goro waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Silva.
Goro takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Silva works Goro's body with a nice hook.
Goro moves forwards but Silva connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Goro walks into a jab.
Silva lands a jab.

Silva shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Goro napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Silva tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Silva has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Silva goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Goro rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Silva's guard! Nice work there by Goro!
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Goro has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Goro throws and elbow that misses. Silva uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Goro's guard. Nice move by Silva!
Silva slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Goro tries to buck Silva off but Silva is having none of it.

Silva thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Silva is trying to move to mount but Goro reverses beautifully and ends up in Silva's guard.
Goro makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Goro throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Silva works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Goro trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Goro won't allow Silva to sweep him here.

Goro drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Silva manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Goro has Silva in his guard.
Goro tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Silva trying to control but Goro is working from the bottom.
Goro is trying to control the position but Silva postures up.
Goro wants to stand but Silva is controlling the position.
Goro on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Goro tries to get out of the position.
Silva stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Goro swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Goro controls Silva momentarily but Silva frees himself.

Silva trying to control but Goro is working from the bottom.
Goro trying to control the position.
Goro knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Silva on the ground.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
A jab lands there for Silva.
Silva throws out a powerful jab.
Silva connects with the punch.
Silva is looking to clinch but Goro is avoiding it.
Nice uppercut there from Goro.
Silva connects with a good right hand that stumbles Goro. Goro circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Goro misses with a wild body shot.
Silva throws a shot to the body.
Silva connects with a crisp jab.
Left hook, right uppercut from Silva.
Goro swings for the body but Silva moves out of range.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Goro.
Goro has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Goro there as he acknowledges the shot.

A punch lands to the side of Goro 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Goro fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Silva avoids it really well and circles away.
Silva connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
A punch combination from Goro misses.
Silva shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Goro counters with a series of strikes. Silva will be more careful next time no doubt.
Goro is breathing heavily.
This has been an exciting period of action!
A big right from Goro misses.

Silva takes the fight into the clinch.
Silva lands with a short shot to the head.
Silva lands a right hand that snaps the head of Goro backwards.
Silva misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Goro.
Silva keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Goro's efforts to push away.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Silva.
Goro changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Silva fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Silva changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Silva is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Goro had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Nice straight punches there by Silva. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Silva.
Silva fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Danga de danga de dang - Silva scores with a four punch combination!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

David Silva dominated that round.
That's time! Back to the action!


Nice uppercut there from Silva.
Silva lands with a shot to the body.
Goro needs to keep his hands up - Silva had a free shot at his head there.
Yumi Goro is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Silva lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Goro has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Goro fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Silva sprawls well initially but Goro persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Silva gets back to full guard.

Goro got a little sloppy there for a moment and Silva has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Goro has managed to get both his arms back between Silva's legs - danger averted.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Silva is on top in guard.
Silva passes Goro's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Silva is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Goro is just riding it out for now. Silva eventually gives up the hold.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Silva wants to pass to mount but Goro is defending the position.

Silva seems to be looking for submissions.
Goro tries to roll over but Silva keeps him under control.
Silva trying to control from half guard but Goro is working away.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Silva. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
Goro is looking to improve his position.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Silva is just content to waste time from the top position. Goro takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Silva connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Silva swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Goro on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Goro fails to land the takedown.
Silva lands a right hook to the body.
Silva tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Goro paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Silva lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
David Silva seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Silva lands a glancing blow to the side of Goro's head.
Goro takes a swing at Silva's ribcage but misses.
A nice combination there by Silva.
Silva cracks Goro with a right hand to the side of the head.
Silva looks to land a combination. Goro sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
David Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Goro has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Goro there as he acknowledges the shot.

Silva lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Goro swings wildly with an uppercut but Silva uses good head movement to avoid it.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Goro as Silva tries to tie him up.
Still in the clinch, Silva scores with a nice short uppercut.

Goro lands a takedown into guard.

Silva has his foot on Goro's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Goro works his way back into a safe position though.
Goro working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Silva is on top in guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Goro takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

and Goro counters with a single leg into guard. Silva didn't expect that.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

David Silva showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Silva scores with a one two! Goro had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Silva fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Goro throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Goro is defended easily by Silva.

Silva seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Goro does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Goro is trying to control. Silva wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Goro is just content to waste time from the top position. Silva takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Goro drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Silva manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Goro has Silva in his guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Goro escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Silva gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Goro is controlling an arm, preventing Silva from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.

Silva is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Goro has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Silva goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Goro is on top in guard.

Yumi Goro has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Silva bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Goro's guard.
Silva trying to control the position from guard on top but Goro is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

David Silva has got the better of the ground game so far.

Goro is looking for a triangle but Silva pushes his legs off easily.

David Silva comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Silva has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
