Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hattori Hanzo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and john barker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

barker has Hanzo up against the cage in a clinch.
barker stops a takedown attempt from Hanzo.
barker is trying to force a seperation but Hanzo has the dominant position.
barker fails to pull guard.
barker throws a knee to the head but misses.
barker gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Hanzo.

barker ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. barker no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hanzo thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Hanzo drops back looking for a leg! barker is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and barker manages to kick Hanzo off! Hanzo jumps back into barker's guard.

Hanzo drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hanzo jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

barker has his foot on Hanzo's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hanzo works his way back into a safe position though.

barker had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Hanzo defends it easily.
barker is trying to keep Hanzo in close.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
barker shoots in for a takedown but Hanzo shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Hanzo displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from barker.
Hattori Hanzo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of john barker.

Hanzo defends well against a solid takedown attempt from barker.
barker changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hanzo tries to avoid it but barker manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hanzo to the ground. Hanzo escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Nice takedown defense from barker. No joy for Hanzo on that attempt.

barker throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Hanzo.

Hanzo decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Hanzo maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! barker could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Hanzo has cracked it and barker is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Hanzo!
