PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Samuel Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Energizer Bunny (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carter comes to the cage accompanied by Boogie Wonderland. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Samuel Carter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Energizer Bunny!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Steve Erwin and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bunny tries to close the distance and clinch but Carter swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Bunny is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Carter stuffs the takedown.
Carter throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Bunny.
Carter keeps the fight on the outside.
Carter swinging wildly here.

Bunny looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Bunny postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Carter can't keep his opponent in guard - Bunny advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Bunny content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Bunny works his way into side control.
Bunny controlling the position from side mount.
Bunny tries to advance to mount but Carter denies him.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Bunny working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Carter avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Bunny.
Carter is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Bunny has just dragged him back down to the mat.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Bunny is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Carter is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Bunny decides to stand back up. Bunny steps back and let's Carter get back to his feet.
Carter lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Bunny circles away quickly and effectively.
Carter connects with a crisp jab.


It looks like Energizer Bunny has been cut.
Bunny has a takedown stuffed.
Bunny is looking to clinch but Carter is avoiding it.

Bunny feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Bunny looks gassed!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Bunny trying to control but Carter is working from the bottom.
Bunny is pushing down on Carter's leg trying to pass to half guard. Carter is fighting to maintain full guard but Bunny has managed to sneak the leg through.
Carter is trying to stand back up but Bunny is controlling him
Bunny is looking to pass Carter's guard but actually Carter recovers to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Carter avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Bunny pushes down on Carter's leg and manages to get into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Energizer Bunny dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Energizer Bunny's cut.
That's time! Carter's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Carter on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.

Bunny shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Carter napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Bunny postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Bunny remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Carter throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!

Bunny drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Bunny stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Carter swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bunny is breathing heavily.
Bunny wants to control from the top but Carter keeps moving.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Bunny gets to his feet. Carter looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Carter throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Bunny.

Bunny closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Carter manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Bunny shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Carter defends it nicely.
Carter lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Bunny fails with a takedown attempt.
Samuel Carter is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bunny misses with a low kick as Carter jumps back.
Bunny tries to clinch up but Carter circles away and keeps his distance.
Carter circles away from the clinch attempt.
Bunny doesn't manage to clinch there - Carter circles away.
Bunny closes the distance and clinches up with Carter, looking for a takedown. Bunny pushes Carter against the cage but Carter circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Samuel Carter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Energizer Bunny.
Carter looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Energizer Bunny seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A nice combination there by Carter.
Nice takedown defense from Carter. No joy for Bunny on that attempt.
Carter pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Bunny shoots in looking for a takedown. Carter tries to sprawl out of it but Bunny keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Carter manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Bunny dodges the punch combination from Carter.
Bunny wants to clinch up but Carter keeps it at a distance.
Carter moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Carter tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Bunny throws a head kick that misses.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Bunny fails with a takedown attempt.
Carter stuffs the takedown.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Samuel Carter dominated that second round.
The cut man is working on Energizer Bunny's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Carter throws a head kick but Bunny moves out of range.
Bunny throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Carter's waist but Carter gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Bunny off to one side.
Carter leaves Bunny with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Carter moves out of range of the body kick.
Bunny misses with a head kick.
Carter circles away from the clinch attempt.
Carter scores with a one two! Bunny had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Bunny takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Jab by Carter.
Carter swinging wildly here.
Carter fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Bunny tries to clinch up but Carter circles away and keeps his distance.

The fight stays on the outside here - Bunny looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Samuel Carter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Energizer Bunny.
Carter throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

Carter stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Carter wants it to stay on the feet.
Carter's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Carter duly obliges.


That has opened up Energizer Bunny's cut even more.
Carter is looking to land body kicks.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Bunny tries to free his leg and advance position but Carter is retaining full guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Samuel Carter showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Carter has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
