Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Petter Norlin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alex Sanchez!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Vladimir Khabensky and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Norlin throws a good cross that connects.
Sanchez slips a jab from Norlin.
Norlin misses with an uppercut. Sanchez saw that one coming.
Sanchez fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Norlin scores with a jab to the head.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Sanchez is defended easily by Norlin.
Norlin is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Sanchez.
Norlin takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Norlin throws a lazy right hand but Sanchez sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Norlin throws a hook to the side of Sanchez's head but Sanchez sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Norlin jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
This has been an exciting period of action!

and Sanchez counters with a solid body kick.
Norlin falls off balance throwing a combination

and Sanchez counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Sanchez.
Sanchez drops down looking for an ankle pick but Norlin pulls his leg out and moves away.
Petter Norlin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alex Sanchez.
Norlin throws a right and a left that Sanchez avoids nicely.

Sanchez looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Norlin misses with a series of wild punches.
Sanchez blocks a jab.
Norlin is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Norlin fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Sanchez looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Sanchez steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Norlin.
Norlin throws a left and a right that both miss
and Sanchez counters with an outside leg kick.
Norlin is breathing heavily.
Sanchez blocks a jab.

Norlin thows a left - swing and a miss!
Sanchez lands a front kick.
Sanchez plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Sanchez is defended easily by Norlin.
Norlin looks to throw the jab but Sanchez is out of range.
Sanchez displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Norlin throws out the jab.
The fighters circling - Norlin throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

and Sanchez counters with a body kick.
Sanchez closes this distance looking for a takedown but Norlin circles away.
Sanchez pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Norlin misses with an uppercut.
Norlin looks to land a right hand but Sanchez moved out of range.
Sanchez shoots in looking for a takedown. Norlin tries to sprawl out of it but Sanchez keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Norlin manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Sanchez might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Norlin kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close round but I would say that Petter Norlin will probably get the nod.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Norlin is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Sanchez asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Norlin lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Sanchez circles away quickly and effectively.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Sanchez wants to pass the guard but Norlin is keeping the position.
Sanchez is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Sanchez shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Norlin pinned against the cage. Norlin gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

I think Sanchez has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
