Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Poker Face (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kraig Mackey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kraig Mackey acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Poker Face!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Kraig Mackey!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Face drives through and clinches with Mackey against the cage.
Mackey can't find room to land a body shot as Face controls the action.
Mackey being controlled against the cage.

Face turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Mackey wants to control but Face postures up.
Face wants to control but Mackey is keeping him busy.
Mackey is trying to buck Face off.
Face controls the position from side control.

Face decides to stand back up.
Mackey misses with a takedown attempt - Face sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Face works over Mackey's head and body with a nice combination.
Mackey chopping away at his opponent's legs.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Face feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Mackey is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Mackey looks gassed!
Face wants to control from the top but Mackey keeps moving.
Mackey tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Face stands up from Mackey's guard - Face perhaps looking for a knockout.
Face misses with a few strikes there.

Mackey gets a clinch.
Mackey misses with some punches.
Face lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Face wants the takedown. Mackey is fighting it off but Face persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Mackey's guard against the cage.
Face landing some decent shots from guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mackey can do anything to dispel that myth.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mackey trying to strike off his back.
Face trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Mackey wants to sweep here but Face controlling him for the moment.
Face stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mackey swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Face gets to his feet. Mackey looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Face thows a left - swing and a miss!

Mackey fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Face sprawls well initially but Mackey persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Face tries to get to full guard but Mackey has control of the leg.
Mackey trying to mount his opponent but Face defends it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Face is trying to stand up here but Mackey is controlling him well.
Mackey prevents Face from improving his position.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Mackey perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Face is refusing to be controlled, as Mackey sits in half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Face tries to kick Mackey off but Mackey keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Mackey gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Face counters with a nice double leg into side control. Mackey won't be happy with that.
Mackey gets back to half guard.
Mackey regains full guard. Nicely done.
Face pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Mackey is keeping the position for now.
Mackey pulls Face in close to his closed guard and prevents Face from doing any damage or advancing position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Mackey kicks Face off and gets to his feet.
Face gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Mackey counters with an inside leg kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Poker Face dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Mackey misses with a head kick.
Face showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Mackey.

Mackey closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Face to the mat! Face manages to get full guard.

Face working for a triangle but Mackey defends it easily.

Mackey stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Face closes the distance and pushes Mackey back into the cage.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Face breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Poker Face is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Face misses with a takedown

and Mackey moves into the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Mackey creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Mackey has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Face regains guard immediately.
Mackey controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Mackey gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Face shoots and misses

and Mackey counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Mackey is looking to work some ground and pound but Face has wrist control.
Mackey trying to control the position from guard on top but Face is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kraig Mackey has got the better of the ground game so far.
Face can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Mackey controls the pace.

Face is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Mackey is stalling in the full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Face keeping moving, preventing Mackey from controlling successfully.
Mackey postures up.
Face looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Mackey puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Mackey with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Mackey is looking to stand up but he'll have to free his leg first. Instead, Face manages to get to full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Mackey slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Mackey's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Despite being in the dominant position, Kraig Mackey just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Face tries for a takedown but Mackey circles away easily

and Mackey counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Poker Face. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Face has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mackey can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kraig Mackey showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Face slaps away a takedown attempt from Mackey, before circling back to the center of the mat.

and Mackey counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Mackey is trying to work for a kimura but Face is defending well.
Mackey seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Face does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Face has one foot on Mackey's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Face moves in looking to clinch but Mackey pushes him off.

Mackey scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Face looks like he's trying to stand up.

Mackey wants to lay and pray for a moment but Face keeps working.
Mackey is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Face is trying to get back to full guard.
Face is trying to maintain the position but Mackey is very close to passing his half guard.
Still in half guard, Mackey seems content to control.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Mackey is keen to just control but Face is a slippery customer.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Face shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Mackey counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Face is looking to improve his position.
Mackey trying to control the pace.

Face is trying to maintain the position but Mackey is very close to passing his half guard.

Mackey is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Face defends it well.
Face won't allow Mackey to pass to mount.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Mackey tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Face is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Mackey's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Mackey's back!

Mackey is trying to stand back up.
Face wants to control but Mackey is keeping busy.

And that's the end of the fight!
Kraig Mackey comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Mackey has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
