The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Anthony Taglia and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jacky darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Jacky is looking to advance position but Gomez won't allow it.
Jacky seems to be working for a kimura but Gomez defends the submission attempt.
Jacky is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Gomez is just riding it out for now. Jacky eventually gives up the hold.
Gomez wants to get back to his feet.

Jacky is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Gomez reverses the position - he's now on top in Jacky's guard.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Jacky has eaten all the pies!
Jacky looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Gomez drops back looking for a leg! Jacky is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Jacky manages to kick Gomez off! Gomez jumps back into Jacky's guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Jacky has a closed guard, preventing Gomez from standing up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Gomez stalks Jacky and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Jacky's face. Jacky staggers backwards, shaken.
That has opened up Mikey Jacky's cut even more.
Jacky stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Jacky wants it to stay on the feet.

Jacky drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Jacky goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Gomez has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Jacky but great work by Gomez.
The ground and pound from Gomez seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Gomez is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Jacky knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Gomez lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Jacky backs up against the cage.

Gomez connects with a good right hand that stumbles Jacky. Jacky circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Gomez is defended easily by Jacky.

Gomez manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Jacky manages to get himself to full guard.
Gomez wants to get up but he can't break Jacky's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Gomez fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Jacky sprawls well initially but Gomez persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Jacky is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Gomez pulls his head out easily.
