Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kent Scott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kent Scott!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mark Rua!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Bruno Lombardi and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rua tries to clinch but Scott is having none of it.

It looks like Kent Scott has been cut.

Rua has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Scott regains guard immediately.
Scott throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Scott is trying to control the position from the bottom.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Rua cracks Scott with a right hand to the side of the head.

Rua lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Scott lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Rua circles away quickly and effectively.

Rua moves into range and clinches up with Scott.
Scott takes a knee to the side of the body.
Scott is trying to force a seperation but Rua has the dominant position.
Rua is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Scott tries to pull guard but Rua holds him up against the cage and eventually Scott drops back down to his feet.

Rua lands a knee to the head.
Scott jumps guard but Rua stands there with Scott around his waist. Scott gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Scott jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Rua walks away with a smile on his face. Scott gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Scott is trying to break the clinch but Rua is controlling him.
Rua keeps control of Scott as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Rua's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Scott takes an elbow to the forehead.
Scott tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Rua scores with a knee to the head.
Rua unloads a knee to the mid-section.

Rua lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Rua slows down the pace here.
Scott jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Rua walks away with a smile on his face. Scott gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Scott sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Rua tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Rua plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Rua changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Rua clinches up with Scott and pushes him back against the cage.
Rua has Scott pressed against the cage.
Rua lands an elbow that stopped Scott in his tracks for a moment.

Scott tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Rua smiles and moves away.

Scott moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Scott tries to keep at a distance but Rua has taken the fight into the clinch.

Rua pushes Scott back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Rua uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Scott.
Rua misses with a head kick.

Scott rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Rua moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Scott throws a shot from downtown. Rua moves away and avoids it.
Scott throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Rua closes the distance and pushes Scott back into the cage.

Scott is refusing to be controlled, as Rua sits in half guard.

Rua is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Scott sees it coming and defends easily.

Rua tries to clinch but Scott moves out of range.

Rua drives through and clinches with Scott against the cage.

Rua turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Rua manages to end up in side control.
Scott tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Rua wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Rua creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

Rua seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Scott does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Mark Rua comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Rua has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
