Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Royce Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shane Carwreck!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Gwen Towbar and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Gracie there as he acknowledges the shot.


It looks like Royce Gracie has been cut.
Gracie walks into a left hand.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Gracie bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

That was a close round but I would say that Royce Gracie will probably get the nod.

Carwreck throws a right hand that Gracie ducks under and follows up with a left that Gracie also avoids with ease.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

You get the feeling that Carwreck really doesn't like being in this position too much.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Gracie fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Carwreck manages to avoid it.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


The fighters circle momentarily. Carwreck darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Gracie shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Carwreck pinned against the cage. Carwreck gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Shane Carwreck seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Carwreck pushes Gracie away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Gracie gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Gracie looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Gracie fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Carwreck sprawls well initially but Gracie persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Gracie passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Carwreck!

Gracie wants to finish this one by submission but Carwreck is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Gracie.

Carwreck's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Carwreck is trying to escape the mount but Gracie keeps good control and instead manages to take Carwreck's back.

Gracie is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Carwreck is defending well though. Gracie let's go of the attempt for now.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Gracie here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Carwreck is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Gracie off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.

Carwreck is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Gracie gets his way!
Royce Gracie is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Carwreck is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Gracie, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
