Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gay Al (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Duke Ellington (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Duke Ellington will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Gay Al!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Duke Ellington!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Chris Downing and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Al has closed the distance and engaged Ellington in a clinch.
Ellington holding his opponent close, against the cage.
Ellington lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Al tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Ellington lands a hook to the side of the head.
Ellington stalling the fight.
A nice right hand lands inside from Ellington.
Ellington effectively controlling the action here.

Al manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Ellington preventing the sweep.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Al working for a triangle but Ellington defends it easily.

Ellington got a little sloppy there for a moment and Al has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ellington has managed to get both his arms back between Al's legs - danger averted.
Al is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Al has a closed guard, preventing Ellington from standing up.
Ellington tries to free his leg and advance position but Al is retaining full guard.
Al doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Al looking for a sweep. Not yet Al, not yet.

Al is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Ellington defends well.
Ellington is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Al escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ellington gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Ellington must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Ellington forces his way into half guard.

Al manages to get to full guard.
Al working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Ellington.

Al escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ellington gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Al is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Al is breathing heavily.
Ellington trying to control but Al is working from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Al not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Ellington trying to stand up but can't free himself from Al's guard.

Ellington avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Al is trying to keep Ellington in close.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Ellington wanted to stand there but Al had control of the position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Al avoids the body shot from Ellington.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gay Al dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Al looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ellington is fending him off so far but Al persists. Nope, Ellington circles away and we're back to standing.
Ellington fails to land with a series of punches.
Al shoots in for a takedown but Ellington shows good takedown defense.
Al looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gay Al. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ellington swats away the attempt to clinch by Al.

Ellington lands a big head kick that sends Al tumbling to the mat! Ellington takes a step backwards and waves Al back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Al is rocked!
Al slips under a jab from Ellington.
Al throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ellington's waist but Ellington gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Al off to one side.
Al walks into a straight right, dropping him to the canvas! Ellington swarms him and finishes the fight with a hail of punches! What a brutal finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:35 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Duke Ellington!
