Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dr Rape (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexei Karelin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Alexei Karelin enters the cage!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rape fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Karelin, pushing him back against the cage.

Karelin jumps into guard, dragging Rape to the mat.
Karelin looking to hit a scissor sweep but Rape is one step ahead there.

Rape avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rape would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Rape has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Karelin is proving hard to escape from.

Rape postures up in Karelin's guard and throws a big left but Karelin blocks it.
Rape postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Karelin bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Rape's guard.
Karelin won't allow Rape to get back to his feet.

Karelin thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Rape wants to stand up but Karelin is controlling him.
Rape trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Karelin lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Karelin is pushing down on Rape's leg trying to pass to half guard. Rape is fighting to maintain full guard but Karelin has managed to sneak the leg through.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Karelin lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Rape is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Karelin has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Karelin has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
