The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Yukihiro Shimada and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith II will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Silva closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Smith II did well to prevent Silva getting side control.
Silva throwing shots but Smith II is blocking nicely.
Silva is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Smith II ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Silva moves away.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Silva staying out of range there.
Smith II rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Silva moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Smith II lands a right hook to the body.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Silva throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Smith II's waist but Smith II gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Silva off to one side.

Silva throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Umbabarauma Smith II.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Smith II, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
