Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Wladimir Murchulenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Choi Won Hyeong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Murchulenko comes to the cage accompanied by Sandstorm, Darude. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Wladimir Murchulenko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Choi Won Hyeong!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Marco Blurström and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch combination from Murchulenko misses.
Murchulenko tries a head kick but it misses.

It looks like Choi Won Hyeong has been cut.
Murchulenko connects with a solid leg kick.

Hyeong shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Hyeong content to control rather than advance.
Hyeong not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Nice strikes from Hyeong there.
Still in half guard, Hyeong seems content to control.
I looks like Hyeong might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Hyeong thows a huge punch but Murchulenko dodges it nicely.

Murchulenko wants to control but Hyeong is keeping busy and won't allow it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hyeong throwing shots but Murchulenko is blocking nicely.
Hyeong is controlling the pace.
Hyeong misses with a head shot. Murchulenko uses the momentum to regain guard.
Hyeong trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Murchulenko looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hyeong is one step ahead there.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Hyeong shoots in but Murchulenko avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Murchulenko lands with a kick to the temple. Hyeong shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Murchulenko misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Murchulenko gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Hyeong postures up.
Murchulenko can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Hyeong controls the pace.
Hyeong content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Hyeong controlling from the top position.
Murchulenko has control of Hyeong's left arm, preventing Hyeong from doing any damage.
Murchulenko on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Murchulenko tries to get out of the position.

Murchulenko wants to sweep but no luck.
Murchulenko can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Hyeong controls the pace.
Murchulenko keeping moving, preventing Hyeong from controlling successfully.
Murchulenko is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Hyeong is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Murchulenko has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Hyeong has passed into side control.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Murchulenko is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
The referee asks Hyeong politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Hyeong prefers to stall for the moment though.
Murchulenko wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Murchulenko is breathing heavily.
Murchulenko is looking for a sweep.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Wladimir Murchulenko will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Choi Won Hyeong's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Hyeong avoids a punch combination nicely.
Murchulenko fails with an attempt to clinch.
Hyeong looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Murchulenko is fending him off so far but Hyeong persists. Nope, Murchulenko circles away and we're back to standing.
Hyeong fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Murchulenko avoids it really well and circles away.
Murchulenko misses with a series of wild punches.
Wladimir Murchulenko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hyeong darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Murchulenko looks like he's trying to stand up.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Hyeong takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Hyeong is looking to take a break and control but Murchulenko is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Hyeong is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Despite being in the dominant position, Choi Won Hyeong just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Murchulenko unloads with some shots from mount but Hyeong bucks and avoids them well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hyeong blocking the ground and pound.
Murchulenko thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Hyeong is really trying hard to get back to his feet.
Hyeong wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Murchulenko.
Murchulenko is landing with some decent strikes but Hyeong is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Hyeong wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.

Murchulenko is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Hyeong can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Hyeong wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Murchulenko.
Murchulenko throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Hyeong because Murchulenko loaded up on that one.

Hyeong holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Murchulenko tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

Hyeong bucks up and throws Murchulenko to the side - he's got back to his feet. Great escape!

Hyeong trying to pass the guard but Murchulenko defending well.
Murchulenko knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hyeong on the ground.

Hyeong is keen to just control but Murchulenko is a slippery customer.
Still in half guard, Hyeong seems content to control.
Murchulenko is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Hyeong throwing shots but Murchulenko is blocking nicely.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Murchulenko has his hands clasped together around Hyeong's back. He's all about the action.
Murchulenko slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Murchulenko lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Hyeong will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Murchulenko tries to bum rush Hyeong with a series of wild strikes but Hyeong uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Murchulenko goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

Murchulenko gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Murchulenko is trying to hold Hyeong in close to prevent damage but Hyeong has managed to pass into half guard.
Murchulenko is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Hyeong slips a nice elbow through Murchulenko's hands, connecting with Murchulenko's forehead.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Hyeong wants to free his trapped foot but Murchulenko is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Hyeong thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Murchulenko's head.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Hyeong takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

Hyeong changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Murchulenko looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Hyeong is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Murchulenko knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Hyeong throws a strike aimed at the side of Murchulenko's head but Murchulenko avoids it well.
Murchulenko manages to work his way to half guard, despite Hyeong's best efforts.
Murchulenko has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hyeong is working away from the top position though.

Choi Won Hyeong comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Murchulenko has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
