The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Scott looks to land a right hand but Vreeland moved out of range.
Vreeland closes the distance and clinches.
Scott jumps guard but Vreeland stands there with Scott around his waist. Scott gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Scott drops down looking for an ankle pick but Vreeland pulls his leg out and moves away.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Vreeland tries to close the distance and clinch but Scott swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Scott shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Vreeland sprawls well. Vreeland wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Scott gets slowly back to his feet.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Vreeland seems to be working for a kimura but Scott defends the submission attempt.
Scott wants to sweep but Vreeland has passed to side control!

Vreeland is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Scott is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Vreeland cracks Scott with a big right hand but Scott just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Scott fails with the takedown
and Vreeland counters with a nice double leg into side control. Scott won't be happy with that.
Scott tries to improve position but can't.
Vreeland is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Scott is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Vreeland thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Vreeland wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Scott, who protects the arm well.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Vreeland tries to score with some ground and pound. Scott controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

Scott is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Vreeland is working for a submission of some sort.
Scott is looking for a sweep. Vreeland is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Vreeland tries to clinch there but Scott circles away.
Scott throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Scott throws a head kick that misses.
Vreeland clinches with his opponent.
Vreeland gets control of Scott's arms and successfully pulls guard. Vreeland will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Vreeland has hold of Scott's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Scott manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Scott can't escape the position.

Scott wants to improve his position but Vreeland is controlling well.

Scott has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Vreeland. Oh but Scott has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Vreeland goes limp - he's gone! Scott jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
