Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paquito del Pilar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tommy Liddell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from del Pilar.
Liddell looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Liddell swats away the attempt to clinch by del Pilar.
del Pilar shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Liddell is trying to defend but del Pilar finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
del Pilar looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
del Pilar lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
del Pilar is nestled in close to Liddell, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
del Pilar thows a huge punch but Liddell dodges it nicely.

The ground and pound from del Pilar seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

del Pilar tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no del Pilar has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

del Pilar looks up at the clock and then as Liddell takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, del Pilar smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

del Pilar cracks Liddell with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! del Pilar immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Liddell is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by del Pilar!
