Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Max Zorin!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Habib Arellano!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Edson Gomes and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zorin throws and low kick but Arellano moves out of range easily.
Zorin fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Arellano moves out of range of the strikes.
Arellano checks a low kick from Zorin.
Zorin swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Zorin misses with a looping right.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Arellano.
Zorin is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Arellano decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Arellano closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Zorin tries to roll over but Arellano keeps him under control.

Zorin is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Arellano jumps into side control!

Arellano decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Zorin throws a right and a left that both miss.

Arellano shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Arellano tries to stand but his arm is trapped.

Zorin wants to get back to full guard but Arellano has passed into side control.
Zorin slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Zorin wants to sweep but Arellano has passed to side control!
Zorin is looking to regain half guard here but Arellano keeps moving and retains side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Zorin looking for a sweep but Arellano has passed into full mount! Oh no!

Arellano looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Arellano is landing with some decent strikes but Zorin is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Zorin wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Arellano.

Arellano throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.

Poor strikes thrown by Arellano there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Zorin takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Zorin is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Zorin is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Arellano throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Habib Arellano dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Zorin changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Arellano tries to avoid it but Zorin manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Arellano to the ground. Arellano escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Zorin looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Arellano!
Arellano is trying to escape the mount.
Zorin thowing shots but they're missing.
Arellano really wants to buck Zorin off and get back to his feet.

Zorin stands up from mount. Strange move.
Max Zorin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Arellano tries for a takedown but Zorin sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Zorin throws a series of punches but Arellano avoids them all with ease.
Arellano shoots in but Zorin avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Max Zorin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Habib Arellano.

Arellano scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Zorin slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Zorin is looking for a triangle but Arellano pushes his legs off easily.

Zorin moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Zorin had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Arellano is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Zorin Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Arellano's back instead.

Zorin is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Arellano with him. Arellano is trying to defend but Zorin has an arm under the chin now! Arellano grimaces and is forced to tap out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:02 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Max Zorin!
