The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Vladimir Khabensky and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fajardo looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Skiter looks like he's trying to stand up.
Skiter on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Skiter tries to get out of the position.
Fajardo looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Skiter with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Fajardo jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Skiter walks away with a smile on his face. Fajardo gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Skiter tries to close the distance and clinch but Fajardo swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Fajardo shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Skiter as he avoids it easily.
Randy Skiter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rodrigo Fajardo.
Skiter tries to clinch there but Fajardo circles away.
Fajardo throws a nice looking combination but Skiter bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

and Fajardo decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Skiter's guard.

Fajardo lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
You get the feeling that Skiter really doesn't like being in this position too much.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Fajardo is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Fajardo!
