Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Brandon Longson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gegard Zaromskis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Longson comes into the arena with Oopsy daisy chipmunk blaring out of the sound system. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Longson avoids the head kick by Zaromskis.
Zaromskis cracks Longson with a good jab.
Longson is looking to clinch.
A decent looking cross lands there for Zaromskis.
A good leg kick by Longson.
Longson walks into a straight right hand from Zaromskis.

Zaromskis drives through with a takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Zaromskis pushes down on Longson's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Zaromskis blocks the strikes from Longson.
Longson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Zaromskis wants to free his trapped foot but Longson is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Zaromskis is nestled in close to Longson, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Zaromskis is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Longson sees it coming and defends easily.
Longson wants to improve his position but Zaromskis is controlling well.

Zaromskis wants to work for an arm triangle but Longson is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Longson tries to roll over but Zaromskis keeps him under control.
Zaromskis working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Longson could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Zaromskis looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Longson with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Longson is pressing down on Zaromskis's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Longson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Zaromskis is one step ahead there.
Zaromskis postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Longson is breathing heavily.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Zaromskis is taking a breather. Longson says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Zaromskis has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Zaromskis lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Zaromskis connects with a nice short shot to Longson's temple.

Zaromskis takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
