PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ed Valquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Austin Houston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Houston has chosen Born of a Broken Man as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. On his way into the cage it seems that Ed Valquez has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Ed Valquez seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 4 rounds, in the middleweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Austin Houston!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Robert Twigg and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valquez fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Houston manages to avoid it.
Valquez lands a jab.
Houston pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Houston looks for a takedown but Valquez sprawls well.
Valquez tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Houston was well out of range. Poor timing from Valquez.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Valquez, right into the meat.

Houston closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Houston is looking to take a break and control but Valquez is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Valquez is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Houston feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
