PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Kilo Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jermaine Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jackson comes to the cage accompanied by Inspectah Deck - Friction. Brown comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Necro- I need drugs kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 1, fighting out of New York, Jermaine Brown!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, John Kavanagh and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Jackson throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Brown misses with a wild body shot.

Brown closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Brown wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jackson keeps working.
An elbow from Brown crashes against the mat.
Jackson taking punishment in the form of punches.
Jackson tries to buck Brown off but Brown is having none of it.
The ground and pound from Brown seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Jackson is looking for a sweep.

Brown thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Brown postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Brown takes a little break here. Jackson wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Jackson wants to control but Brown postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Brown wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jackson keeps working.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Brown wants to control from the top but Jackson keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Brown working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Jackson's head.
Brown stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jackson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Jackson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Jackson is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Brown thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Jackson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Jackson blocks a head kick by Brown.

Brown shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Jackson wants to control but Brown is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Brown wants to pass the guard but Jackson is defending well.
Jackson wants to get back to full guard but Brown has passed into side control.
Jackson is looking to get to half guard.
Jackson is in a horrible position here. Brown smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Jackson wants to hold on but Brown pushes him away.

Brown has hold of Jackson's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Jackson manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Jackson takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jermaine Brown dominated that round.

Jackson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Brown gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Brown stays in close to Jackson's body and controls the position.
Jackson wants to sweep here but Brown controlling him for the moment.

Brown avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Jackson has his foot on Brown's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Brown works his way back into a safe position though.

Brown is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Jackson trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Brown showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Jackson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Brown is one step ahead there.
Brown is working Jackson over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Brown wants to control from the top but Jackson keeps moving.
Jackson controls Brown momentarily but Brown frees himself.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Jackson is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Brown trying to control the position from guard on top but Jackson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Jackson throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Brown.
Jackson throws a sloppy head kick and Brown moves out of range easily.
Jermaine Brown seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Brown closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Brown lands in his opponent's guard.
Brown scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Brown lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Jackson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Brown can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Brown drops back looking for a leg! Jackson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Jackson manages to kick Brown off! Brown jumps back into Jackson's guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Brown fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Jackson sprawls well initially but Brown persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Jermaine Brown has got the better of the ground game so far.
Brown working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Brown maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Jackson could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Brown has cracked it and Jackson is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Brown!
