Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lenny Lukens!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Daniel Robert!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Daniel Franklin and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lukens pushes Robert up against the cage in a clinch.
Lukens misses with a hook from the clinch.

Lukens's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Robert tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Robert lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.


It looks like Lenny Lukens has been cut.

Lukens closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Lukens lands in his opponent's guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Lukens accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Lukens turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Lukens manages to end up in side control.
Lukens tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

Lukens is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Robert knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Lukens keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Robert's efforts to push away.

Robert prevents Lukens from breaking the clinch.

Come on Lukens - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

Lukens controls Robert momentarily but Robert frees himself.

Lukens is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Robert defends well.

Lukens has his foot on Robert's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Robert works his way back into a safe position though.

Robert wants to get up but he can't break Lukens's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Lukens escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Robert gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lukens is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Robert defends well.

Lukens is trying to keep Robert in close.
Lukens lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Robert!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Robert is in a horrible position here. Lukens smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Robert holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Lukens tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Lukens sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Lukens is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Robert is surviving well by controlling Lukens's body position as best he can.

Lukens goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Robert turns into him and now he's in Lukens's guard.

Robert throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
The fight stays on the outside here - Lukens looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Lukens shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Robert sprawls well. Robert wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Lukens gets slowly back to his feet.

It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over.

Lukens postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

That was a close fourth round but I would say that Lenny Lukens will probably get the nod.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. And we move into the final round!


Robert stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Robert wants it to stay on the feet.
Robert throws a head kick that Lukens semi-blocks.

Lukens bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Lukens wants to control but Robert is keeping him busy.
Lukens in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Robert really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lukens. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The strikes coming from Lukens are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Robert can do anything to dispel that myth.

Lukens has an Americana. Robert didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Lukens is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Lukens hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
