The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hardy shoots for a double leg takedown but O Malley sprawls well. He's pushed Hardy's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

O Malley closes the distance and clinches.

O Malley breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
O Malley tries to clinch but Hardy moves out of range.
Sean O Malley seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hardy throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around O Malley's waist but O Malley gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hardy off to one side.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

O Malley closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Hardy did well to prevent O Malley getting side control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

O Malley really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hardy. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

O Malley got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hardy has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, O Malley has managed to get both his arms back between Hardy's legs - danger averted.

O Malley is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Hardy doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time O Malley.
O Malley looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Hardy with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Hardy shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. O Malley manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Hardy slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
O Malley is not content to let Hardy control the position.

Hardy tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Hardy has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Hardy is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. O Malley looks calm but he's in trouble here. Hardy gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. O Malley is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Hardy lets go of the hold and O Malley can pop his arm back in it's socket.
