The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fedorov lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Gagne connects with a body shot.
Fedorov moves in looking to clinch but Gagne pushes him off.

Gagne gets a takedown into half guard.
Gagne thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Fedorov makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Fedorov.

Gagne is looking to stand up but Fedorov isn't so interested in that idea.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Fedorov fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Fedorov clinches up with Gagne and pushes him back against the ropes.
Fedorov is trying to break free.
Fedorov tries to pull guard but Gagne holds him up against the ropes and eventually Fedorov drops back down to his feet.

Fedorov tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Gagne smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kirill Fedorov. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Fedorov paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

The fight stays on the outside here - Fedorov looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Fedorov throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Gagne stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Fedorov is trying to keep Gagne in close.

Gagne escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Fedorov misses with a two punch combination.
Gagne dives in and grabs Fedorov's left leg, looking for a takedown. Fedorov pushes down on Gagne's head and hops out.

Gagne shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Gagne was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Gagne really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Fedorov. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Fedorov wants to hold on but Gagne pushes him away.

Fedorov is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Gagne scores with a couple of nice shots.

Fedorov wants to stand but Gagne is controlling the position.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Gagne postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Gagne wants to control from the top but Fedorov keeps moving.
Fedorov is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Fedorov is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Fedorov ties up his opponent against the ropes and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Fedorov no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Fedorov manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Gagne manages to get himself to full guard.

Fedorov tries to free his leg and advance position but Gagne is retaining full guard.
Gagne keeping moving, preventing Fedorov from controlling successfully.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Fedorov drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Fedorov jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

That was a close second round but I would say that Kirill Fedorov will probably get the nod.

Fedorov is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Gagne has his hands clasped together but Fedorov extends an breaks Gagne's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Fedorov.
