PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dan Hop (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Henrik Sedin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hop comes to the cage accompanied by 2pac ambitionz az a ridah. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Henrik Sedin!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Mauricio Rocha and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hop shoots for a takedown but Sedin saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Sedin is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Sedin shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Hop manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Sedin won't allow Hop to sweep him here.

Sedin wants to control from the top but Hop keeps moving.

Hop feints and as Sedin raises his hands in defense, Hop changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hop is looking to work some ground and pound but Sedin has wrist control.
Sedin seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hop trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Hop knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sedin on the ground.

Hop has hold of Sedin's hands but Sedin slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Sedin postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Sedin tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Hop is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Sedin asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Sedin goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Hop turns into him and now he's in Sedin's guard.

Henrik Sedin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Hop shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Sedin's guard.

Hop drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Sedin manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Hop has Sedin in his guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Sedin breaks from Hop's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Hop is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Sedin goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Hop is on top in guard.

Well Sedin has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
