PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jenda Hlina (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Blaze (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jenda Hlina!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Johnny Blaze!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Nard Betker and Daniel Blasius.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blaze throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Hlina fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Blaze stuffs the takedown.
Horrible takedown by Hlina or perhaps it was just good defense by Blaze which made him look bad.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jenda Hlina. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hlina closes this distance looking for a takedown but Blaze circles away.
Hlina shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Blaze pinned against the cage. Blaze gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Hlina fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Blaze darts in and clinches Hlina up against the cage.
Blaze jumps guard but Hlina stands there with Blaze around his waist. Blaze gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Hlina wants a takedown.
Hlina is breathing heavily.
Blaze is trying to force a seperation but Hlina has the dominant position.
Blaze prevents the takedown attempt.
Blaze is trying to drag Hlina to the mat but Hlina just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Blaze tries to break the clinch but Hlina is controlling the position.

Hlina goes for a takedown in the clinch but Blaze prevents it.
Hlina drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Blaze turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Blaze manages to end up in side control.
Hlina tries to improve position but can't.
Blaze happy to just control the position for now.
Hlina tries to buck Blaze off but Blaze is having none of it.
Blaze is staying tight to Hlina's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Hlina sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Blaze is controlling the pace.
Hlina is trying to get back to full guard.
Hlina has hold of Blaze's hands but Blaze slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Blaze is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Hlina is looking to improve his position.
Blaze tries to stand but can't do so whilst Hlina controls his leg.
Blaze looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Hlina with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Blaze content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Blaze scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Blaze seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Hlina is looking for a sweep. Blaze is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Blaze looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Hlina wants to get back to full guard.
Blaze is taking a breather. Hlina says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Blaze takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Hlina is trying to stand.
Blaze prevents Hlina from improving his position.
Blaze scoring with strikes to the body and head.
Blaze content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Blaze's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Blaze is nestled in close to Hlina, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Blaze stalling.
I looks like Blaze might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Hlina wants to get back to full guard.
Blaze with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

Despite being in the dominant position, Johnny Blaze just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Blaze cracks Hlina with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Blaze has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Hlina to stand back up!

Hlina is rocked!

It looks like Jenda Hlina has been cut.
Hlina drops his hands momentarily. Blaze doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Hlina staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Hlina doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Johnny Blaze!
