Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ben Saunders!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Gilbert Yvel!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Paulsen Ambrosius and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saunders avoids the head kick by Yvel.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Saunders.

and Saunders counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Yvel's guard now.

Saunders drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Saunders jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Saunders is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Yvel looking to hit a scissor sweep but Saunders is one step ahead there.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Saunders gets caught flat footed, as Yvel shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Yvel postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Saunders looking to hit a scissor sweep but Yvel is one step ahead there.
Saunders is working hard here to advance position.
Saunders will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Saunders had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Yvel defends it easily.

Saunders looking for a sweep. Not yet Saunders, not yet.
Yvel's corner is telling him to maintain position.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Saunders manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Yvel manages to get himself to full guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Yvel can do anything to dispel that myth.

Saunders drops back looking for a leg! Yvel is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Yvel manages to kick Saunders off! Saunders jumps back into Yvel's guard.

Saunders is looking for a kimura but Yvel is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Saunders to get the leverage.

Saunders looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ben Saunders dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

and Saunders counters with a nice double leg into side control. Yvel won't be happy with that.

Saunders is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Yvel looks calm but he's in trouble here. Saunders gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Yvel is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Saunders lets go of the hold and Yvel can pop his arm back in it's socket.
