PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Riley Arthur (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Edwin Saunders (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Riley Arthur!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Edwin Saunders!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Steven Brown and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saunders doesn't manage to clinch there - Arthur circles away.

Saunders bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Saunders stands up and beckons Arthur to his feet.
No joy there for Arthur, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
The fight stays on the outside here - Saunders looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Saunders doesn't manage to clinch there - Arthur circles away.
Saunders misses with a combination
and Arthur counters with a straight right hand.


It looks like Edwin Saunders has been cut.
Arthur misses the jab.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Saunders throws a head kick that misses
and Saunders takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Saunders on the wrong end of a nice hook.


Saunders is rocked!
Arthur misses with a body kick.
Arthur throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Saunders fails in his attempt to clinch.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Saunders is defended easily by Arthur.
Arthur connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Saunders is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Arthur's half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Arthur is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Saunders pulls his head out easily.
Saunders prevents Arthur from standing back up.

Saunders is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Arthur still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Arthur has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!
Arthur has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Saunders looks gassed!

Arthur stands up.
Riley Arthur is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Arthur scores with a nice strike.
Saunders throws the kick towards the body but Arthur avoids it.
Saunders wants to clinch up but Arthur keeps it at a distance.
Arthur blocks a head kick by Saunders.
Saunders wants to clinch.
Saunders tries to clinch but Arthur moves out of range.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Saunders shoots in for a takedown but Arthur shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Saunders is looking to clinch.
Arthur fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Saunders on the side of the head.
Arthur lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Arthur scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Edwin Saunders seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Arthur stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Arthur throws a nice looking combination but Saunders bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Riley Arthur dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Edwin Saunders's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Arthur lands a slapping body shot.
Arthur grits his teeth and throws a big right-left combo! Saunders takes both shots clean on the chin and is out cold! Arthur cracks him once more on his way down, as the crowd goes wild! They enjoyed that one!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:13 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Riley Arthur!
