PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dong Chim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Malik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Malik has chosen Rocky Theme as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dong Chim!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Sam Malik!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yuuki Gou and Yukihiro Shimada.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Malik lands a left and a right that send Chim crashing to the mat, dazed. Malik thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

It looks like Dong Chim has been cut.
Chim misses with a takedown attempt - Malik sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Chim shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Malik is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Chim can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Malik is looking to escape.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Malik is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
Malik is squirming around, avoiding Chim's attempts to control the action.

Chim wants to finish this one by submission but Malik is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Chim.
Chim tries to control but Malik wriggling away.
Malik avoids a series of strikes thrown by Chim.
Malik is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Chim punching from mount but Malik doing a good job of avoiding damage.

Malik is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.

Chim goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Malik turns into him and now he's in Chim's guard.
Chim is breathing heavily.
Chim preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Malik postures up in Chim's guard and throws a big left but Chim blocks it.
Malik has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Chim is proving hard to escape from.
Malik must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Malik is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Chim is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Malik trying to stand up but can't free himself from Chim's guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Malik misses with a series of wild punches.
Malik lands with a right that hurts Chim. Chim looks to clinch but Malik throws a short knee that drops Chim. This one is all over!
