The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomez uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Szczevnikov.
Gomez throws a front kick that sends Szczevnikov stumbling back into the cage.
Szczevnikov shoots in for a takedown but Gomez shows good takedown defense.
Szczevnikov looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Szczevnikov shoots in but Gomez avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Felipe Ferra Gomez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jan Szczevnikov.
Gomez throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Gomez dodges the punch combination from Szczevnikov.
Jan Szczevnikov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gomez throws a series of punches but Szczevnikov moves out of range.

Gomez drops Szczevnikov with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Szczevnikov looks back up at him and smiles so Gomez waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Szczevnikov is rocked!
Gomez thows a body kick. Szczevnikov tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Gomez lunges at Szczevnikov with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Szczevnikov's hand.
Szczevnikov is still on wobbly legs! Can Gomez finish him?
Gomez lands with a nice body punch.
Szczevnikov takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Szczevnikov seems to have recovered his senses.

Szczevnikov drops his hands momentarily and Gomez takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Gomez circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Szczevnikov to the canvas! Szczevnikov doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Gomez keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
