The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jefferies closes this distance looking for a takedown but Ellis circles away.
Ellis displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Jefferies throws out the jab.
Jefferies with a nice cross.
Jefferies misses with a takedown attempt - Ellis sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Nice uppercut there from Jefferies.
Jefferies throws a looping overhand right but Ellis ducks down to avoid it.
Ellis defending well as Jefferies loads up on a big left hand.

Jefferies gets a takedown into half guard.
Ellis is looking for a sweep. Jefferies is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Jefferies passes to side control.

Jefferies stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Jefferies decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Ellis is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Jefferies in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Ellis tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Jefferies!
