Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Caleb Starned (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bepo Kroner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bepo Kroner has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Caleb Starned's chin.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Winston Howard and John Mangel.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kroner looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Starned is rocked!
Kroner frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Oh Starned is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Kroner has control of Starned's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Starned regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Kroner working for a submission but Starned is keeping him at bay.

Kroner with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Starned seems to have got his legs back now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kroner seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Starned is holding on tight.
Starned squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.

Kroner wants to finish this one by submission but Starned is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Kroner.

Kroner stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Starned throws a leg kick which misses Kroner's front leg but catches the back leg as Kroner tries to avoid it.
Kroner shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Starned pinned against the cage. Starned gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Kroner looks gassed!
Starned stalks Kroner and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Kroner's face. Kroner staggers backwards, shaken.
Horrible takedown by Kroner or perhaps it was just good defense by Starned which made him look bad.

Starned fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Kroner looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Starned throws a leg kick but Kroner checks it.

Kroner looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Starned!
This has been an exciting period of action!

Kroner has hold of Starned's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Starned manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Kroner looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Kroner is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Starned defends it well.
Kroner is just content to waste time from the top position. Starned takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Kroner walks into a stiff left hand from Starned.
Starned throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kroner thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Kroner looking to break Starned's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Starned remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Kroner will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Kroner has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Starned has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Oh but Kroner is tightening it up a little... Starned has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Starned reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Starned taps out! nice BJJ there by Kroner!
