Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ahmad Daud!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Shigeki Sano and Sosuke Kotani.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hammett has Daud up against the ropes in a clinch.
Hammett breaks from the clinch.
Daud tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hammett sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Daud somewhat.
Hammett moves into the clinch.
Daud can't get the takedown.
Hammett leaning against his opponent.
Daud drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Hammett gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Kirk Hammett has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ahmad Daud.

It looks like Ahmad Daud has been cut.
Daud is fighting off a takedown attempt but Hammett is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Daud to the mat. Daud regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

The fighters are battling for position here. Daud manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Hammett is looking to work some ground and pound but Daud has wrist control.
Hammett postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Daud is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Hammett, into his guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Hammett has his foot on Daud's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Daud works his way back into a safe position though.
Hammett has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Daud throws a strike but Hammett rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Hammett drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hammett jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Daud should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and Daud counters with a nice double leg into guard.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Daud throws a strike but Hammett rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Hammett thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Daud escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hammett gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Hammett distracts Daud with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Hammett advances position into side control!
Hammett has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Daud!
Daud defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Hammett.
Hammett wants to finish this one by submission but Daud is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Hammett.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Daud has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Hammett has managed to clinch.
Hammett wants to stall.

Daud tries for a takedown but Hammett circles away easily
and Hammett counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Hammett.
Hammett drags the fight down to the ground.
Hammett is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Hammett is striking but Daud is not phased and passes to half guard.
Hammett looks like he's trying to stand up.
Daud is trying to control the action in half guard but Hammett is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Daud throws a sloppy strike and Hammett has hooked up an armbar on the loose arm! He's turned and extended fully! Daud is forced to tap! Great BJJ from Hammett!
