Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jason Hill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Austin Aries (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hill kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Moby - Extreme Ways . Aries works Hill's body with a nice hook.
Hill is looking to clinch.
Hill displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Aries.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Aries is controlling Hill's trapped leg to prevent Hill from advancing to side control.
Hill is nestled in close to Aries, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Hill tries to close the distance and clinch up but Aries swats him away and circles back towards the center.

and Hill counters with a nice low kick that buckles Aries's knee momentarily.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Aries scores with a one two! Hill had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Aries takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Hill has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Hill wants to control but Aries is keeping him busy.

Hill has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Aries will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Jason Hill overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Aries shoots in for a takedown but Hill shows good takedown defense.

Aries takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.

Hill has managed to clinch.
Hill is trying to drag Aries to the mat but Aries just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Aries jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Hill walks away with a smile on his face. Aries gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Aries closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Hill breaks from the clinch.
Aries throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hill's waist but Hill gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Aries off to one side.
Hill shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Aries as he avoids it easily.

Hill moves into the clinch.

Aries decides to pull guard.
Hill throws a big right hand that misses.
Hill trying to control but Aries is working from the bottom.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Hill trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Aries keeping moving, preventing Hill from controlling successfully.

Hill stands up and waves to Aries to follow him.

Aries takes the fight into the clinch.
Hill is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Aries is keeping busy.

Hill pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Jason Hill seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hill tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Hill changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Aries looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Aries is looking for a sweep.

Hill has hold of Aries's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Aries tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Hill cranks the arm and Aries screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Aries, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
