Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Silky Slapyaface (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adam Nelson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Adam Nelson told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Silky Slapyaface!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Adam Nelson!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, George Francis and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nelson fails with a takedown attempt.
Slapyaface swings for the body but Nelson moves out of range.
Silky Slapyaface seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Slapyaface misses with the combination.
Nelson looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Slapyaface jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Slapyaface fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Nelson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Slapyaface as he avoids it easily.
Silky Slapyaface has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Adam Nelson.
Slapyaface thows a body shot but no joy.
Nelson walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Slapyaface has gone for a leg lock! Nelson slips out almost immediately though and dives into Slapyaface's guard.

Slapyaface is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Nelson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Nelson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Nelson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Slapyaface tries to avoid it but Nelson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Slapyaface to the ground. Slapyaface escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Nelson takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Nelson is stalling here. Slapyaface is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Nelson seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Slapyaface has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Slapyaface is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Nelson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Slapyaface is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Nelson doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Slapyaface.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Slapyaface wants to take a breather but Nelson is having none of it.

Let's hope that Nelson has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

A close second round but Adam Nelson will probably get the nod - 10:9.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Slapyaface is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Nelson defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Nelson uses his free foot to push down on Slapyaface's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Slapyaface.

That was a close fourth round but I would say that Silky Slapyaface will probably get the nod.

Nelson might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Slapyaface kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
