PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Reymond Fernandes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Randy Rogan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Reymond Fernandes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Randy Rogan!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rogan has managed to clinch.
Fernandes misses with a knee to the head.
Rogan prevents Fernandes from breaking the clinch.
Rogan putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Fernandes in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.
A frustrated look appears on Fernandes's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Rogan changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Fernandes tries to avoid it but Rogan manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Fernandes to the ground. Fernandes escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Rogan is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Rogan looks for a takedown but Fernandes sprawls well.
Reymond Fernandes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Randy Rogan.

Despite being in the dominant position, Randy Rogan just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Reymond Fernandes has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Rogan decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Fernandes throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Rogan sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Rogan changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Fernandes looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Randy Rogan is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Randy Rogan comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Rogan has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
