PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kris Coleman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vlad Tepes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kris Coleman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Vlad Tepes!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Steve Smith and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A chopping leg kick lands by Coleman.
Tepes shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Coleman but Coleman pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Tepes changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Coleman tries to avoid it but Tepes manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Coleman to the ground. Coleman escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Tepes misses with a hook. Coleman ducked under it nicely.
Tepes throws a low kick but it's checked well by Coleman.
Nice takedown defense from Coleman. No joy for Tepes on that attempt.
Kris Coleman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vlad Tepes.

Tepes wants to control but Coleman is keeping busy.

Coleman can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Tepes is looking to escape.

Coleman looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Coleman wants to control but Tepes is keeping him busy.
Tepes is pressing down on Coleman's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Coleman wants to control from the top but Tepes keeps moving.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Coleman is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
