and Sapponen decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Stuart's guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Sapponen wants to control but Stuart is keeping him busy.
Stuart is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Sapponen asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Sapponen takes a little break here. Stuart wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Sapponen has hold of Stuart's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Stuart tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Sapponen cranks the arm and Stuart screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Stuart, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
