Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bu Laia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Baby Jay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Laia comes to the cage accompanied by ""E Ala E" by Israel Kamakawiwo'ole. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laia cracks a nice hook into Jay's ribs.
Laia comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Jay checks a low kick from Laia.
Jay moves out of range as Laia strikes.
Laia misses with a looping right.
Laia throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Laia takes one to the chin there.

It looks like Bu Laia has been cut.
Jay dives in and grabs Laia's left leg, looking for a takedown. Laia pushes down on Jay's head and hops out.
Jay misses with a double jab
and Laia counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Laia doesn't manage to clinch there - Jay circles away.
Bu Laia seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Laia rushes Jay and presses him up against the cage.

Laia fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Jay manages to avoid it.
Laia lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Jay circles away quickly and effectively.

Jay uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Laia.
Jay takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Laia gets to mount! Jay was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Laia lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Jay hang on?

Laia is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Jay is surviving well by controlling Laia's body position as best he can.

Jay is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Laia pulls his head out easily.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Jay uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Laia shoots in for a double leg but Jay sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Laia throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

and Jay makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Jay misses with a series of wild punches.
Jay tries to bum rush Laia with a series of wild strikes but Laia uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Laia fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Jay is out of range.
Laia scores with a hook to the body. Jay takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Laia throws a leg kick but Jay sees it coming and checks it nicely.

Laia misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Laia ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Jay moves away.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Jay lands the left hand.
Jay looks to throw the jab but Laia is out of range.

Laia lands with an overhand left.
Jay is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Laia lands with a straight right. Jay didn't see that one coming.
Jay is still on wobbly legs! Can Laia finish him?

That was a close second round but I would say that Bu Laia will probably get the nod.

Jay seems to have recovered his senses.
Laia throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Jay throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Laia sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Laia loads up on a big right hand but Jay slips the punch.
Jay doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Laia counters with a stiff right hand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jay tries to close the distance and clinch but Laia swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Laia circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Jay to the canvas! Jay doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Laia keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
