Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Junior Zappa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jacob Danzig (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good work by Zappa as he checks the leg kick.
Danzig slips a jab from Zappa.
Danzig looks for the body kick but Zappa saw that one coming.
Danzig avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Danzig throws a sloppy head kick and Zappa moves out of range easily.
The fighters circling - Zappa throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Danzig feints and then cracks Zappa's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Zappa down.

Danzig doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

and Danzig counters with a low kick, right behind Zappa 's knee.
Zappa throws a lazy right hand but Danzig sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Oooh a lovely combination from Zappa sends Danzig down but not out. Zappa dives into side control looking to finish.
Danzig is not content to let Zappa control the position.

Zappa tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Zappa has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Danzig tries to buck Zappa off but Zappa is having none of it.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Danzig lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Danzig ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Danzig moves forwards but Zappa connects with a nice, crisp jab.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Danzig takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Zappa throws a right and a left that both miss.
Zappa throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Danzig stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Danzig is breathing heavily.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Danzig ducks straight into an uppercut from Zappa and tumbles to the canvas! It’s a flash knockdown though - Danzig manages to regain guard straight away.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Danzig can do anything to dispel that myth.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The strikes coming from Zappa are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Zappa tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Zappa content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

Danzig tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Zappa wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
