Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between James york (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Serguei Iganashov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). James york looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, James york!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Serguei Iganashov!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Elvis Blanc and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Iganashov throws a right and a left that both miss.
york looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
The fight stays on the outside here - Iganashov looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
A jab lands there for Iganashov.


It looks like James york has been cut.
Iganashov rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but york moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
york shoots for a double leg takedown but Iganashov sprawls well. He's pushed york's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
york shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Iganashov as he avoids it easily.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
york blocks a punch to the side of the head.
york blocks an uppercut.

Iganashov's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
york changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Iganashov tries to avoid it but york manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Iganashov to the ground. Iganashov escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for James york. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Iganashov cracks york with an uppercut from hell and york crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Iganashov's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!


york is rocked!

Oh york is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
I looks like Iganashov might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
york seems to have got his legs back now.

Iganashov looking to pass the guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Iganashov not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Iganashov's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Serguei Iganashov dominated that round.
The cut man is working on James york's cut.
That's time! Back to the action!


Iganashov fails to land with a series of punches.

Iganashov steps into range and cracks york with a monster punch that buckles his knees! york flops backwards and Iganashov dives into his guard looking to finish!
Iganashov wants to pass the guard but york is keeping the position.
Iganashov's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Iganashov stands up and waves to york to follow him.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

york ducks straight into an uppercut from Iganashov and tumbles to the canvas! It’s a flash knockdown though - york manages to regain guard straight away.
Iganashov sitting in guard, not really doing much.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Despite being in the dominant position, Serguei Iganashov just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Iganashov throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Iganashov swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Serguei Iganashov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Iganashov moves in looking to clinch but york pushes him off.
Iganashov connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between york's hands.


James york's cut is getting worse.
Iganashov keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Iganashov misses with a series of wild punches.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Iganashov drops york with a straight left! Oh this is bad for york! Iganashov dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:11 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Serguei Iganashov!
