Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Eddie Roth (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Carrow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Eddie Roth!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, James Carrow!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Bruno Lombardi and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roth slips a straight right by Carrow.
Carrow needs to keep his hands up - Roth had a free shot at his head there.
Roth ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Carrow misses the jab.
Carrow fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Roth is out of range.
Carrow throws a leg kick but Roth checks it.

Roth closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Carrow did well to prevent Roth getting side control.
Roth looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Roth is trying to control the action in half guard but Carrow is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Carrow wants to improve his position but Roth is controlling well.
Roth is keen to just control but Carrow is a slippery customer.
The fighters are battling for position here. Carrow manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Carrow had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Roth defends it easily.

Carrow escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Roth gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Roth got a little sloppy there for a moment and Carrow has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Roth has managed to get both his arms back between Carrow's legs - danger averted.
Carrow controls Roth momentarily but Roth frees himself.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

You can see the frustration on Carrow's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Roth moves out of range of the strikes.
Roth lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Roth.
Carrow throws a hook to the side of Roth's head but Roth sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

and Roth counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Carrow is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Carrow escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Roth gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Carrow throws a lazy right hand but Roth sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Roth ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Carrow throws a left and a right that both miss
and Roth counters with a three punch combo that has Carrow backing up. Carrow nods at Roth to acknowledge the strikes.
Roth throws a series of punches but Carrow avoids them all with ease.

Carrow wants to sweep but no luck.
Roth pushes down on Carrow's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Roth stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Carrow swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Roth tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Roth has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
