Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alain Clark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lars Hellstrom (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Clark comes to the cage accompanied by Empire State. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hellstrom thows a left - swing and a miss!
Hellstrom throws out a loose jab but Clark uses good head movement to avoid it.

Clark fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Hellstrom sprawls well initially but Clark persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Hellstrom wants to get back to full guard.
Clark thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Hellstrom's head.
Clark is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Hellstrom!

Clark lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hellstrom avoids a series of strikes thrown by Clark.

Clark goes for an armbar but Hellstrom turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Hellstrom.

Hellstrom might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Clark kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Clark has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Clark had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Hellstrom defends it easily.
Hellstrom wants to control from the top but Clark keeps moving.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Clark wants to sweep but no luck.
Clark lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Hellstrom!
Clark avoids the attempt from Hellstrom to control.
Hellstrom can't escape the position.
Hellstrom really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Clark. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Clark with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Hellstrom can do anything to dispel that myth.
Hellstrom is looking to improve his position but Clark isn't that keen on the idea.

Hellstrom is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Clark locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Hellstrom is forced to tap!
