Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gijs Groosman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arnaud Savage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Savage is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by BLUNT- "The Iron Maiden". Gijs Groosman has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Savage defending well as Groosman loads up on a big left hand.
Groosman looks to land a left hand but Savage moved out of range nicely.
Groosman looks to throw the jab but Savage is out of range.
Savage shoots in for a takedown but Groosman shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Groosman throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Savage sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Savage turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Savage pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Groosman misses with a few strikes there.

Groosman lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Groosman thows a body shot but no joy.

Savage instigates a clinch.
Groosman tries to circle away but Savage has him pinned against the cage.

Groosman is fighting off a takedown attempt but Savage is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Groosman to the mat. Groosman regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Groosman working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Savage doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Savage manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Savage sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Groosman's guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Savage thows a huge punch but Groosman dodges it nicely.
Savage tries to pass the half guard into mount. Groosman knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Savage is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Savage postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Groosman looks a forlorn figure.
