And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Fergus McRedd!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Matheus Silva and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Moraes takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Moraes steps to the side to avoid the strikes from McRedd.
Moraes takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Moraes moves forwards but McRedd connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Fergus McRedd seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Moraes dives in and grabs McRedd's left leg, looking for a takedown. McRedd pushes down on Moraes's head and hops out.
Moraes avoids the body shot from McRedd.
McRedd throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Moraes checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
A nice inside leg kick there by McRedd. That's going to slow Moraes down.
McRedd moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
McRedd fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Moraes on the side of the head.

That's one minute gone in the round.
McRedd throws a looping overhand right but Moraes ducks down to avoid it.
McRedd connects with a solid leg kick.
McRedd looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
McRedd darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

Moraes closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
McRedd manages to work his way to half guard, despite Moraes's best efforts.

Moraes wants to work for an arm triangle but McRedd is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Moraes is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and McRedd defends it well.
McRedd is trying to control but can't.

Moraes is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Moraes is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Moraes is breathing heavily.

Moraes seems to be working for a kimura but McRedd defends the submission attempt.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Moraes is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, McRedd has managed to free his arm - good work.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
McRedd lands a jab to the nose.
Moraes takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
McRedd misses with a jab, cross combination.
McRedd darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
McRedd looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

McRedd cracks a nice hook into Moraes's ribs.
McRedd moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
McRedd scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
McRedd connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
McRedd with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
McRedd throws out a powerful jab.


Moraes is rocked!
McRedd fakes the leg kick and throws a superman punch. It's knocked Moraes out cold! Brutal finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Superman Punch). Fergus McRedd!
