Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rashad Green!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Tom Joad!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Gregory Folan and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Green misses with a looping right.
Joad throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
It looks like Rashad Green has been cut.
A combination from Joad does no damage.
Joad avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Joad swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Green throws out a loose jab but Joad uses good head movement to avoid it.
Joad takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Joad fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Green is out of range.
Joad steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Green.
Green moves away from the strike by Joad.
Green takes one on the button.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Joad tries to clinch up but Green circles away and keeps his distance.
Green connects with a good right hand that stumbles Joad. Joad circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Green scores with a nice head shot.
Joad throws a shot to the body.
Joad misses the shot to the body.
Joad looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Green is fending him off so far but Joad persists. Nope, Green circles away and we're back to standing.
Joad's corner calls for a 1-2. Joad obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Joad looks to score with a jab to the body but Green is just out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Green cracks Joad with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Green has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Joad to stand back up!
Joad is rocked!
Green throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Joad stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Joad is still on wobbly legs! Can Green finish him?
Joad looks gassed!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Green connects with a jab, followed by a picture perfect straight right that sends Joad to the canvas, out cold! What a finish by Green!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:13 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Rashad Green!
