Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gunther Octavius (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brad Paxton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paxton lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Octavius circles away quickly and effectively.
Paxton misses with a hook. Octavius ducked under it nicely.
Paxton just misses with a punch to the body.
Paxton cracks Octavius with a right hand to the side of the head.

Octavius uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Paxton.

Paxton closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Octavius to the mat! Octavius manages to get full guard.
Octavius is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Octavius is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Brad Paxton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Paxton with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Octavius to score with a decent uppercut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Paxton closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Octavius did well to prevent Paxton getting side control.

Paxton throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Octavius ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

It looks like Brad Paxton has been cut.

Octavius drops Paxton with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Paxton looks back up at him and smiles so Octavius waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Octavius scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Paxton doesn't seem bothered though.

Octavius drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Paxton dives on top into guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Paxton wants to pass the guard but Octavius is keeping the position.

Paxton might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Octavius kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Octavius wants to improve his position but Paxton is controlling well.
Octavius is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Paxton's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Paxton's back!

Octavius is working for a rear naked choke. Paxton is not defending it well and Octavius has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Paxton refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Paxton's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
