Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jaroslav Halak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Parks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jaroslav Halak!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Chris Parks!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Parks closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Halak is trying to control but can't.
Halak has his hands clasped together around Parks's back. He's all about the action.
Halak is trying to control but can't.
Halak controlling the position for now.
Parks keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Parks wants to lay and pray for a moment but Halak keeps working.
Halak is trying to control but can't.

Halak has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Parks is working away from the top position though.
Parks is just content to waste time from the top position. Halak takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Parks drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Halak manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Parks has Halak in his guard.
Parks looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Parks is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Parks is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Halak drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Parks manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Halak has Parks in his guard.

Parks wants to stand but Halak has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Parks wants to pass the guard but Halak is keeping the position.
Halak is trying to control the position but Parks postures up.
Parks is stalling in the full guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Parks stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Halak swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Parks being controlled here momentarily.
Parks wants to control from the top but Halak keeps moving.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Parks is looking to clinch but Halak is avoiding it.
Parks lands a high kick!


It looks like Jaroslav Halak has been cut.
Parks dives in and grabs Halak's left leg, looking for a takedown. Halak pushes down on Parks's head and hops out.
Parks closes the distance and clinches up with Halak, looking for a takedown. Parks pushes Halak against the cage but Halak circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Parks tries to close the distance and clinch up but Halak swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Parks shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Halak is trying to defend but Parks finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Parks is breathing heavily.

Halak is trying is best to control the position here.
Halak is looking to control Parks's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Halak avoid being mounted?

The referee stands the fighters back up. Jaroslav Halak just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Parks is looking to clinch but Halak is avoiding it.
Parks shoots for a takedown but Halak saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Parks throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Halak's waist but Halak gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Parks off to one side.
Parks tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Halak paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Chris Parks is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Halak moves into range and clinches up with Parks.
Parks is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Halak gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Halak misses with a knee to the head.
Halak tries a knee to the head but Parks blocks it.
Parks trying to control the position but instead, Halak has worked for underhooks and has pushed Parks into the cage.
Halak connects with a knee to the head.
Parks fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Halak lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Halak tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Halak tries a knee to the head but Parks blocks it.
Halak using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Parks has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Parks is working for takedown but Halak is calmly controlling the position for now.
Parks is looking to break free of the clinch but Halak has double underhooks.
Halak misses with a knee to the head.

Parks jumps guard and drags Halak to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Halak drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Halak jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Parks looking for a guillotine here but Halak defends easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Halak drops back looking for a leg! Parks is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Parks manages to kick Halak off! Halak jumps back into Parks's guard.
Parks looking to hit a scissor sweep but Halak is one step ahead there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chris Parks showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The cut man is working on Jaroslav Halak's cut.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Parks fails with a takedown attempt.

Parks throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Halak was covering up waiting for the punch and Parks finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Halak is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Halak is trying to keep Parks in close.
Parks is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Halak not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Parks is looking to stand up but Halak won't let him.
Parks trying to control the position from guard on top but Halak is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Halak has control of Parks's left arm, preventing Parks from doing any damage.
Parks trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Parks wants to clinch
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Halak avoids the head kick by Parks.
Parks tries to clinch up.
Halak slips a jab and a cross from Parks.
Parks closes this distance looking for a takedown but Halak circles away.
Halak throws a sloppy head kick
and Parks counters with a straight right hand.
Parks throws a half hearted mid kick.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Parks.

Parks takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Parks shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Halak counters with a thumping low kick.
Jaroslav Halak has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Chris Parks is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Parks fails to land the takedown.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Chris Parks.
I've got Parks winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
