Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jacques Shellac (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Spoon McGinty (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jacques Shellac!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Spoon McGinty!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Ian Loll and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGinty closes the distance and clinches up with Shellac, looking for a takedown. McGinty pushes Shellac against the cage but Shellac circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
McGinty shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Shellac as he avoids it easily.

McGinty shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Shellac is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

McGinty is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Shellac is surviving well by controlling McGinty's body position as best he can.
Shellac manages to regain half guard. Good work.

McGinty is trying to control the action in half guard but Shellac is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

McGinty is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
McGinty is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Shellac!

McGinty seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Shellac is holding on tight.

McGinty throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Shellac because McGinty loaded up on that one.
Shellac is squirming around, avoiding McGinty's attempts to control the action.
Shellac on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Shellac tries to get out of the position.
McGinty is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
McGinty throwing strikes here but Shellac is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Shellac is trying to escape the mount.
McGinty is looking to work his way around to Shellac's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.
Shellac wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by McGinty.

McGinty can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Shellac is looking to escape.

McGinty tries to score a body lock takedown but Shellac shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

McGinty has Shellac pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. McGinty pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Shellac tumbling to the mat - McGinty dives into Shellac's guard.
McGinty takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Shellac is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Shellac takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
McGinty tries to roll over but Shellac keeps him under control.
Shellac knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for McGinty on the ground.
Shellac wants to free his trapped foot but McGinty is holding on for dear life with his legs.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
